چکیده

The decays of B mesons to the charmless final states ππ and Kπ are a rich source of information on the fundamental parameters of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa (CKM) matrix, but the extraction of this information from data requires the separation of weak interaction effects from strong-interaction quantities such as magnitudes of operator matrix elements and strong phases. A number of model-independent analyses of these systems [1, 2, 3, 4] have shown that when one combines data on CP asymmetries with branching ratios of CP-averaged final states, one can separate the strong interaction effects from fundamental CKM parameters, obtaining useful information on both sets of quantities. In the present paper we apply several of these analyses [1, 2, 3] to the decays B → Kπ and B → ππ, using new upper limits quoted by the CLEO [5], BaBar [6, 7], and Belle [8] Collaborations for several CP-violating asymmetries in these decays, as well as updated CP-averaged branching ratios for these states. Comparison of the CPaveraged rate for B → Kπ with that for B → Kπ, given a small strong phase difference, excludes 31 ≤ γ ≤ 60 for the weak phase γ ≡ Arg(−V ∗ ubVud/V ∗ cbVcd), while comparison of B → Kπ with B → Kπ sets a 1σ lower limit of γ > 50. Present 1σ bounds on the asymmetry parameter Sππ in B 0 → ππ exclude roughly half the CKM parameter space allowed by other measurements.

On supersymmetric contributions to the CP asymmetry of the B → φK

We analyse the CP asymmetry of the B → φK S process in general supersymmetric models. In the framework of the mass insertion approximation, we derive model independent limits for the mixing CP asymmetry. We show that chromomagnetic type of operator may play an important role in accounting for the deviation of the mixing CP asymmetry between B → φK S and B → J/ψK S processes observed by Belle an...

Constraining New Physics with the CDF Measurement of CP Violation in B → ψKS

Recently, the CDF collaboration has reported a measurement of the CP asymmetry in the B → ψK S decay: a ψK S = 0.79 +0.41 −0.44. We analyze the constraints that follow from this measurement on the size and the phase of contributions from new physics to B − B mixing. Defining the relative phase between the full M 12 amplitude and the Standard Model contribution to be 2θ d , we find a new bound: ...

فاکتور کردن QCD و پاد تقارن‌های CP در واپاشی‌های هادرونی B→Kπ

This paper studies improved factorization method, in the heavy quark limit, for B→Kπ decays. Paying attention to strong interaction scale AQCD, and calculating all parameters depending on that in the particular scale (the same as µ ) show that we can obtain better and comparable results for branching ratios such as BR(B0 → K0 π 0 )=8.5+0.7-0.5 × 10-6 and BR(B →π k0)=2.26+0.17-0.15 × 10-5, and...

CP asymmetry in B-->phiK(S) decays in left-right models and its implications for Bs decays.

In left-right models the gluonic penguin contribution to b-->ss;s transition is enhanced by m(t)/m(b) due to the presence of (V+A) currents and by large values of loop functions. Together those effects may overcome the suppression due to the small left-right mixing angle xi less, similar 0.013. Two independent new phases in the B-->phiK(S) decay amplitude appearing in a large class of left-righ...
